Duncan Bagshaw is a partner at Howard Kennedy LLP in London. He has experience as counsel in numerous cases relating to African projects and contracts, particularly in the energy sector. Duncan has appeared before numerous arbitration tribunals, and before all courts of England and Wales, including the UK Supreme Court. He also acts as an arbitrator and he is a Fellow of CIArb (UK).
Duncan is a board member of Nyumbani UK, a charity supporting children in Kenya, and chair of a UK charity which supports disadvantaged young adults. Duncan is a mentor for the AYA Mentoring Programme for Young Arbitrators in Africa.
Dr. Fidèle Masengo is a PhD holder (In law) from University of Antwerp in Belgium (2010). He has also a Master in Economic law (DESS) from the University of Louvain in Belgium (2003). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and certified Mediator.
Since July 2015, Dr Masengo has been the Secretary General of the Kigali International Arbitration Center. His background in both arbitration and law in general, includes, serving as Arbitrator, Mediator, lecturer of International arbitration law, International Competition Law at various universities in Rwanda and East Africa. He is a member of the Rwanda Bar Association since 2006. He has served to the First Board of Director of Kigali International Arbitration Center since its establishment in January 2012 up to September 2017. He serves on the Board of The African Arbitration Association. Prior to joining his current position at KIAC, Dr. Fidele Masengo has served as Deputy Chief of Party for a USAID-Chemonics Rwanda Land Project. He has served as Head of Legal Department at Rwanda Utilities Regulation Agency and as Director of Administration of the Justice at the Rwandan Ministry of Justice. He has written articles, books. He has attended many Conferences as speaker.
