Biography
Muhammad Ussama is a former Judge, a practicing lawyer and arbitrator in Egypt and admitted to the Egyptian Bar (Appeal level). He joined the Arbitration Team at Shalakany at the start of his legal career in 2009. In 2011, he was appointed as a Judge at the Egyptian Council of State where he served for 7 years and ruled on cases concerning, inter alia, disputes arising from investment and international contracts concluded with Egyptian State organs and state-controlled entities). Thus, he is well versed in both private-law and public-law matters. In 2018, Muhammad returned to the private sector where he feels he can best exploit his maximum potential. Muhammad is involved in a number of international commercial and investor-State arbitrations. In addition to his role as counsel, Muhammad acts as an arbitrator in domestic and international commercial arbitrations. Muhammad has numerous publications concerning domestic and international investment law matters.
