Engela C Schlemmer is professor of Law and Assistant Dean: Academic Planning in the School of Law and Faculty of Commerce Law and Management at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She is an assisant editor of the South African Yearbook of International Law and member of its editorial board, she is also an editorial board member of the THRHR (Journal of Contemporary Roman Dutch Law). She is a member of the Society for International Economic Law ((SIEL)) and of the International Law Association (ILA). She is a member of the International Monetary Law Committee of the ILA and the Committee on the Rule of Law in  International Investment Law. Her research focuses on international economic law and in particular the international law on foreign investment and WTO law as well as on real and personal security law.
