Promoting Women in Arbitration

On Saturday 17th August 2019, Suzanne Rattray, FCIArb, convened the first gathering of the Women in ADR Special Interest Group of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Zambia Branch. This initiative was conceived on International Women’s Day 2019 when a group of 4 members of the Branch met over dinner to discuss how to advance careers in ADR for women. On the day, 20 members of the Branch, in addition to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, as well as a number of media representatives, had a memorable meeting to discuss reducing the Diversity Deficit by increasing representation of women in Decision Making Tribunals.
