LACIAC LIVE DEBATES

The LACIAC Live Debates (LLD) was initiated in July 2020. The Debates focus on developing and emerging trends/issues within the international arbitration community and provide a platform for arbitrators and arbitration practitioners to reason and discuss these issues. The LLD has had two successful editions – the first featured Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab, Jacob Grierson, and Ndanga Kamau while the second which held in October 2020 included Prof. Dr. Nayla Comair-Obeid, Prof. Dapo Akande, and Dr. Ucheora Onwuamaegbu.

The third edition of the LLD is scheduled to hold on 31 March 2021 at 3pm (WAT). The motion for this edition is “Should awards annulled at the seat be enforced by courts of other jurisdictions?” and will feature Horacio Grigera Naon (Proposition), Funke Adekoya (Opposition) and Pontian Okoli, PhD FHEA (Moderator).
