Biography
Njeri is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya of over 32 years turned alternative dispute resolver having acquired qualifications such as Chartered Arbitrator & Accredited Mediator. Njeri has practised in the field of alternative dispute resolution over a span of 24 years as an arbitrator, mediator, tutor, trainer and mentor to many budding arbitrators. Njeri has gained experience, mainly in the domestic arena, sitting as sole arbitrator as well as on 3-arbitrator panels, in the construction, petroleum, real estate, insurance, corporate /commercial industries, amongst others, as well as chairing a DAB that mid-wifed an international geothermal project into operation with minimum disruption. Njeri is the current Kenya Representative at the ICC-ICA and is also one of the AfAA’s Vice-Presidents. She has 3 children and practises out of Nairobi

● Written and presented a paper on International Commercial Arbitration, during the 10th Joint Annual Seminar of the London Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators & the LCIA held in September 2014.
● Written and presented a paper on Commercial Mediation in Africa, during the Centenary Conference of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators held in July 2015 in Livingstone, Zambia.
● Written & presented a paper on “The Effective Skills required for building an Arbitration Practice in Africa: a Woman’s Perspective” during the Joint IBA/ICC Conference held in Nairobi, Kenya, on 5th June, 2017.
● Written & presented a paper on “Who is to blame? Exploring the Role of Party Conduct in escalating the Costs in arbitration proceedings” during the NCIA Conference held in Nairobi on the 5th & 6th days of June, 2018.
