Dr Sally El Sawah Appointed Deputy Secretary General of the AfAA 1 February 2021 We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Sally El Sawah who joins the AfAA as Deputy Secretary General from 1st February 2021. The appointment marks a strategic push by the AfAA to reach the French and Arabic speaking parts of Africa. Dr. Sally El Sawah is Egyptian and French qualified, and Registered European Lawyer in England & Wales. She specialises in commercial and investment arbitration and cross-border litigation, acting as Arbitrator, Counsel, Consultant and legal expert. As International lawyer and Arbitrator, she has been involved in a number of high-profile cases and projects in the EMEA region. She has gained a wealth of experience during a career spanning over thirteen years in Paris, London and Cairo, both in reputable law firms and as an independent practitioner. Fluent in Arabic, English and French and working between Egypt, Paris and London, Dr. El Sawah has an outstanding knowledge of Civil and Common Law systems, as well as the business, social and cultural environments of Francophone, Anglophone and Northern-Africa, the Middle-East and Europe. She has considerable experience as Arbitrator and regularly sits as Presiding Arbitrator and Co-arbitrator in arbitral proceedings in Arabic, English and French. |
