Mr Thierry Ngoga is currently an advocate and Arbitrator in Rwanda at Legal Line Partners after serving as Registrar & project Director of Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC) for four years since 2012. He co-administered KIAC’s arbitration proceedings (appointing tribunals, advising tribunals and sharing best practice with parties on complex legal issues arising out of the arbitration proceedings) and actively participating in KIAC business development strategy. He acted recently as arbitrator in international arbitration between East African partner state company and Northeastern Africa state’s company arising out of an agreement in pharmaceutical industry (Swiss law). Selected previous carrier information’s include Executive Secretary (CEO) of the Rwanda Bar Association and in house lawyer to the Ministry of Justice and the ministry of internal affairs. His work and aria of concentration in the past 13 years focused on Commercial law, Arbitration & ADR, Business Development & policy formulation (legal reform). He published articles & consultancy reports in the above areas. Thierry is a lawyer educated in Rwanda and in Switzerland where he obtained respectively the LLB, Diploma in Legal Practice and a diploma in International arbitration as arbitration Practitioner (ArbP). He was a commonwealth commission scholar in 2010 for five CEO’s of Law societies from commonwealth countries (held in UK). His speaking engagement and institution’s representation took place in various international arbitration/Bar gatherings and trips in Africa, Europe, Middle East, USA and Australia. He sits currently as member of the Board of Directors of Rwanda Society of Authors, member of the IBA’s International Trade in Legal Services Committee and have served earlier also as member of Board of Directors of Transparency International Rwanda. He speaks English, French, Swahili. |
